Sorry for the delay in response. We were at IBEX all last week.
Anyhow, the Gemini series is the older version of our slams. We've improved quite a few things and branded the newer latches as the "Stellar" series. I could certainly recommend a Stellar over a Gemini. We keep the Gemini's available for replacement part reasons.
If it's for your console door, you may consider our small lift and turn compression latch. The 4024-xxxx line. There are a few benefits over the slam:
1. The compression latch will not allow the console door to rattle. The slam latch has to be dialed in perfectly, and adjusted occasionally to keep the door from rattling.
2. If you gasket the door, it will create a "dry storage" area for you. Again, a slam would have to be dialed in perfectly.
3. Most of our high end builders are using compression latches on console doors.
Feel free to call me anytime. My cell is 904-237-3724. I'm traveling Wed thru Friday this week, so the cell is the best way to reach me.
Nice talking with you today Marc. Things have been crazy lately for me too. 2014 models coming out and friction hinges have kept me slammed. Looking forward to chatting on Saturday. Considering the work these guys (and I in the near future) are doing, I have a few suggestions for your hardware applications. We're all tired of bleeding stainless hardware and fasteners.
