Well, since no one has started here I guess I will. I will start with some must haves to mold the hull....
1.) A cordless drill
2.) Good stainless screws
3.) A table saw with a good finish blade
4.) A way to wet and heat the strips of plywood. (Iron and bucket will get you started)
5.) A square so you can keep up with your angle.
6.) A notched tool to spread the epoxy. (I like the little squares with different depth notches on each side. Can pick them up at West Marine.)
7.) Plastic cups to mix epoxy. (will mix up to about 12 total ounces)
8.) A compass to scribe pieces.
9.) Orbital sander or something similar to clean up any rough edges.
10.) Jigsaw and planer to cut off excess.
What am I missing guys?.......
Some really nice to haves.....
1.) A long piece of PVC with a cap on one end to fill with water and wet out your shear bands.... (that really goes with "ready to plank")
2.) A home made steamer....
3.) A way to monitor the moisture. Working outside my wood actually got too dry and easy to break. Once I figured this out it got much easier to shape.....
